Why am I so passionate about teaching people about the low carb high fat lifestyle? Because it saved my life.
Six years ago, I was a bodybuilder on a strict low fat, high protein, and carb diet. I was big, muscular, and LEAN. But I was also sick.
I’m one of thousands of Americans who suffer from autoimmune disease and my disease is ulcerative colitis.
Basically my body was attacking itself from the inside. I’ll spare you the nasty details, but I would run to the bathroom in excruciating pain around 30-40 times a day. I was bleeding internally and I was constantly tired and dehydrated.
The pain would get so bad that I’d spend any time that I wasn’t in the bathroom curled up in the fetal position.
I thought my bodybuilding days were long done. I lost my business and I was financially ruined on top of all of this.
Then I decided to do something about it. The foods I was eating – like oatmeal, whole wheat bread, and brown rice – FOODS THAT EVERYONE SAID WERE HEALTHY – seemed to be the foods that caused the most reaction.
So I eliminated them one by one and began chronicling what made me sick and what didn’t.
I was left with four foods: coconut oil, beef, steamed vegetables, and eggs.
I decided that these were the only foods that I would eat – HESITANTLY. My fear was that I would lose muscle and get even skinnier than I’d already become (I’d lost 30 pounds over three months).
But I was desperate. So I pressed on, and then something funny happened.
After a few days of really low energy, I started feeling REALLY GOOD. My brain was clear, and the stomach cramps were GONE! Even my joints felt better! I felt so good that I started training again, and I was able to begin working at my business to pull myself out of that financial hole.
I didn’t know it at the time, but I was doing the ketogenic diet.
There’s a lot more to this story. I don’t want to make it seem like it was easy. I definitely made some mistakes.
I also don’t believe that the ketogenic diet is the right diet for everyone.
What I do believe is that it is a valuable tool that could help certain people overcome plateaus in their fat loss, increase their mental and physical energy, and perform better at LIFE.
I’ll be telling you a little bit more about my story in tomorrow’s email and I’ll also be sending you some valuable information about avoiding the KETO FLU and adapting into ketosis QUICKLY.

In today’s training, we’re going to cover one of the BIGGEST hangups people have about trying the ketogenic diet – KETO ADAPTATION.
Specifically, they’re scared of getting the dreaded KETO FLU.
This is a period of low energy, headaches, and even nausea that people get when they first exclude carbs from their system. It can last between 10 and 21 days and it can absolutely KILL many peoples’ chances of success with the keto diet.
BUT WE ARE NOT GOING TO LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOU!

When I first started the keto diet, I really didn’t know what I was doing.
My take was “eat a bunch of fat and protein, avoid carbs and I’ll be fine.”
But I was selling myself short.
Getting the most out of ketosis energy and health wise requires taking care of your liver, your digestion, and your nutrient density.
When I finally mastered this, I was absolutely amazed at what my body was capable of!
I wasn’t just getting leaner, I was also getting stronger and my energy went through the ROOF!

So far, we’ve covered keto adaptation, or what you need to do to get yourself into ketosis.
In today’s training, we’re going to cover an even more important subject: MAINTENANCE.
How do you keep doing the ketogenic diet day in and day out over a long period of time? Can I stay keto forever? Is it sustainable?
I’ve been doing the keto diet for over six years now, and there’s one thing I can tell you: the longer you do it for, the more benefits you get!
It also gets a whole lot EASIER!
That’s because, once your body is fat adapted for a good period of time, you’ll find that it’s much easier to get back into ketosis once you’ve been kicked out. It’s just a matter of training your body to do it.
Once you’ve been fat adapted for a few months, you can even work carbohydrates back into your diet from time to time. We even teach some specific carb cycling techniques in our ADVANCED COURSE.
So understand that you aren’t saying goodby to carbs FOREVER! You’re just going to get a lot smarter about how you use them! This way, they won’t be something that you’re poisoning your body with, and they’ll become a TOOL that you can call upon from time to time to ENHANCE YOUR WEIGHT LOSS AND PERFORMANCE!
I’ll get into more detail about what this means in today’s training, so make sure you WATCH THE VIDEO.
The other thing to remember here is that you can really make the keto diet enjoyable! It’s just a matter of knowing what you can eat and putting it together to satisfy those cravings!

Hopefully by now you have a good grasp of the keto diet and why it’s so helpful.

Snacking is generally kryptonite for anyone seeking to burn fat and get fit.
We tend to load ourselves up with things like:

This is something I’ve noticed about nutrition over the past decade that I’ve been a trainer.
IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT CAN KILL YOU!
Everytime we reach for a starchy or sugary snack, we raise our blood sugar and spike our insulin. That leads to one thing: FAT GAIN.
But you’re about to be introduced to a whole new way of snacking. There’s a world of snacks that you can take that will not spike your blood sugar, and I cover them in TODAY’S TRAINING.
In our advanced course we also cover a whole lot more including restaurant eating and strategies for when you’re at work.
You’ll find that, once you understand what you can snack on, the keto diet actually becomes FUN!

Now that we’ve gone through a lot of the ins and outs of the ketogenic diet, there’s one big thing I really need to fill you in on.
One of the biggest mistakes I see with people trying to burn fat using the keto diet is that they’re missing a key component in their fat loss – EXERCISE!
The keto diet is a fantastic tool, BUT IT IS NOT MAGIC!
If you want to get the most out of it for fat loss or fitness, you’re still going to need to do some exercising.
I personally LOVE training. It’s the highlight of my day, BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT NOT EVERYONE LOVES IT.
And even if you do enjoy training, you might have a lot on your plate right now.
Like spending time with your kids, a full time job, or school.
Chances are that you don’t have hours to spend everyday in the gym, and you may not even feel comfortable with doing certain exercises.
Everyone needs to start somewhere, and the TRUTH is that you don’t need hours a day and YOU DON’T EVEN NEED A GYM!

This is just my opinion, but Facebook ads with an image and a link to the sales page do NOT work. My advice is to try running video conversion ads and linking them to a splash page where you can collect emails and then send the above free training series. You could also link to the sales page with your hop link, but I would NOT recommend running ads with static images. There’s a lot of noise out there and you need to stand out if you want to make sales.
