What's going on, everybody? Welcome to the Warrior Soul podcast. My name is Chris Albert. This podcast is where we deliver tools, tactics, strategies, and ideas to help The US military veteran community and anybody else willing to listen to live their absolute best lives. Today is Thursday, December 9, and we are headed into the holiday season.

And I know this time of year can be particularly hard for some people, right, if you don't have a huge family or maybe you do. Maybe you're one of the people like I was that feels alone in a crowded room, even surrounded by people who love you. Either way, I know that that this time of year can can really get on people. And I think one of the reasons for that is that, you know, the world seems to be in celebration, and everybody is putting on this veneer of happiness. But inside a lot of us, there's this inner turmoil.

You know? What's going on in my life? Where am I going? What the hell am I doing? Are my best years behind me?

It's particularly true in this community. You know? I I know that a lot of you out there feel like you're old, and I'm here to tell you that you're not. You know, most of you are probably younger than me. I'm 42 years old.

Most of you are probably in your late twenties, early thirties. But even if you're my age or older, what you always have to understand is that you've always got a chance. You know, every single morning, you wake up, go to the bathroom, look at yourself in the mirror, you've got a choice. And that choice is to either stay on the path that you should be on, you know, to continue towards your goals, whatever they may be, or to let go. And there's a lot of people who lie to themselves.

A lot of people who who tell themselves, you know what? I am old enough now where I don't have to do this shit anymore, where I can just let go, where I could just fade off into the darkness. And honestly, no matter how old you are, that's a shitty fucking choice. Right? You were put on this earth.

A one in a million chance that you were born. And even even crazier chance that you're born here in The United States. And an even crazier chance out of all the millennia of time and existence, you were born in this time when there is so much opportunity. And I also hear, but, Chris, this this time period is so fucked up. You know, why couldn't I have been born fifty years ago?

Why couldn't I have been born eighty years ago during the World War two generation? Well, guess what? You weren't. You weren't. And if you were, do you think that was really a better time to exist?

Do you? I mean, sure. We've got a lot more people fighting over social media. We got a lot more people going after each other. But do you really think it was that great of a time to exist?

Right? Most of you probably wouldn't be alive right now. Right? World War two was a motherfucker. Those guys went through hell.

Right? Even if you were born fifty years ago or forty years ago. Right? And maybe I'm getting my times all screwed up, but Vietnam was a motherfucker. Right?

You you think these guys who fucking went over there, you think they had it easy? You think that that that they went over there, they they satisfied their fucking bloodlust, and then came home and and and everything was great? No, dude. No. I mean, people didn't talk about it as much.

People didn't fucking, you know, put it out there, but it was going on. And I think one of the benefits we have in our generation is things like this. You know, our community has come together so much. Our community has has, you know, coalesced into this this larger thing on the Internet. And that's only because we exist in this time and place.

And not just there. I mean, think about all the different things you can learn about. Right? At your fingertips right now on your phone, and literally, everybody has a fucking cell phone these days. Everybody has a smartphone.

How fucking insane is that? When I was a kid, not everybody had a computer. Right? We get one that's way better than all those computers, and we get to carry around in our pocket. And that means that you could pick that thing up at any point in time, and, yeah, you could look at funny memes.

Yeah. You could bitch about the news, but you can also learn about something. You could teach yourself a valuable skill that's gonna bring you further along in life. You you can learn about history. Right?

You can you can improve yourself. And that has never been an opportunity at any point in existence. Right? I was listening to Joe Rogan the other day. They were talking about the foot first books that were out there.

The first books the first written published words were about how to find witches. Right? You know, think about that. That's that's what humans automatically gravitate to, and maybe that's why we gravitate to so much bullshit on the freaking on the Internet. But that choice is there.

You can use that tool for good or you can use it to to waste your life away. Right? But above all, you can't let go. Right? You gotta remember that you only have one mind, one body, one life.

Right? And that life should be spent with people you love, and it should be spent bringing yourself to your full potential. That body, you should be putting good food into it. You should be taking care of it with exercise. You should be a good steward of God's gift to you.

And that mind, you should be filling it with awesome things that are going to help yourself, help the people around you, help your community, and potentially help the world. Right? You've got so many chances to do this stuff in your life, and it it really is all a choice. So the question is, you know, what are you gonna do? Right?

Are you gonna listen to this podcast, turn it off, just be like Chris talking out of his ass today and fucking I'm gonna go do my thing, or are you gonna fucking take this moment the second you turn this show off? And are you gonna fucking get out there? You're gonna learn something? Are you gonna make your body stronger? Are you gonna put good nutrition in there?

Are you gonna go treat the people around you with respect and love and show them who you really are? Are you gonna freaking try to turn this world into the place that it should be rather than sitting back and eating popcorn while it falls apart? I don't wanna do any of that shit. I think God put us all here for a reason. And I think my reason is to talk to all of you.

And in turn, you know, help you guys to to make the world around you a better place. And I think that at the end of the day, if we all take that mindset, if we all try to do that a little bit, it will be. You know? So if this holiday season's getting you down, I'm sorry. But you know what?

There is no reason to be down. There's a lot of reasons to be up. There's a lot of reasons to to be optimistic about the future regardless of what state you're in. Right? Regardless of of what's happening in your life.

I mean, a year and a half ago, I thought I was dying. Alright? Ulcerative ulcerative colitis was ravaging my body. You know, I took these proper steps to to make myself better, got myself into a much better financial position than I was, much better mental mindset than I was, and I'm still here. I'm still walking.

I'm still pushing. It's not perfect. You know, I have hard days. There's days where where I feel like I'm falling back a little bit, but you know what? I'm pushing forward and hope you are too.

Listen, guys. I love you all. That's the reason why I do this show. I I never ever wanted to do this show for the money. I I do it because I freaking literally love you guys.

And there's been times when I wanted to quit doing this show and and I was gonna put it down and I was gonna delete it. And then I would always inevitably get a message from a veteran who told me that the show would help them in some way. And I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate that, how much I appreciate all of you. The only thing I ask of you guys in return is to share these episodes out, Share them with people in and out of the community you think could benefit from the the information, and, you know, keep listening. And, also, don't just listen.

Get out there and actually apply this stuff to your lives. So it's Chris Albert with the Warrior Soul podcast. Get out there and live your best lives while you can, and I am out.
