What is going on, ladies and gentlemen? Welcome to another edition of Warrior Soul podcast. My name is Chris Palmitessa, and I am here to talk to you. This podcast is made for veterans. Its purpose is to provide tools, tactics, strategies, and ideas to help veterans, The US military veteran community, active duty military, or anybody else willing to listen to live their absolute best lives.
And I do that by either talking to somebody who's much smarter, much more accomplished, much more talented than I am, or I do it by telling you how I've screwed up throughout my life personally based on experience, and I've screwed up a whole lot. One of those things that I've screwed up is waiting too long on doing things that I wanted to do. And I think we do this in life because we think somebody's gonna come up and signal to us, Hey, now is the time you gotta start. Or we get comfortable in the lives that we have and and we don't really want to make the changes necessary or we're just lazy, you know, it's usually one of the three. Generally, I I don't like calling people lazy because like, I mean, Yeah.
There are a lot of lazy people out there but it's difficult to understand what somebody's going through, to understand the mental blocks they have unless you're actually walking in their shoes, you know? And and all I can tell you guys is based on my experience, if there's something you want to do in life, you've got to go for it now. You can't be waiting for the proper time, You can't be waiting until somebody gives you permission. You've gotta start going for them now while you're young, while you are in position to be able to do those things. Because you don't wanna be one of those people like I was.
I woke up one day when I was, you know, 30 years old, I looked in the mirror and I said, what the hell happened to me? Right? I was living absolutely below average life, you know, drinking like a fish, you know, trying to have a good time, but but that's all I was doing. Right? All the dreams that I had when I was a teenager, all the things I wanted to accomplish when I got out of Marine Corps, all the the the the things I wanted to do, they hadn't been done yet.
And I was 30 years old. Right? That's a difficult pill to swallow. I'm 43 today. I've done a lot of things, right?
I started this podcast, right? I've started businesses, I went out and tried to become a professional bodybuilder and worked in the fitness industry. I invest in real estate. I am a stand up comedian. And well over half of the things I just talked to you about, I failed at, right?
I was never made it as a pro bodybuilder. I did decently in the fitness industry, but I wasn't anybody that anybody's talking about. I, you know, had a business fail on me, ended up losing all my money and completely fell flat on my face and and, you know, was living out of my car for a while. But, here's the deal, I'm talking to you now, I'm in a great financial position. I I own real estate.
I run a company. I am actively pursuing stand up comedy and doing really well with it. And I wouldn't have been able to do any of that unless I'd gone through those failures. Alright? Unless I had gone through those things, those difficult periods of my life where I was actively trying to do something.
And if you ask me, you know, would I have rather stayed on the same bar stool I was sitting on, you know, kept that, you know, cushy little job that I had that was just feeding my liquor habit and friggin', you know, never went through any of the discomfort that I went through when I was actively pursuing dreams I had. Would I rather be back there and comfortable or or have gone through the the craziness that I've gone through? I choose the craziness anytime. Alright? Because that is what made me into who I am today.
You're not gonna learn the lessons that you need to learn until you actively start. You're not gonna learn anything until you're in danger of actually falling on your face without a safety net or anything like that. So what I'm telling you guys right now is if there's something out there you wanna do, like you really don't have anything to lose. You really don't. You know what?
Probably up until the age of of 31 or 32, if you're single and you don't have kids, you're not married, you could live on a couch. Right? You don't you don't need a lot to survive. So if that's what it takes to go and do what you wanna do for a few years, go do it. Right?
I'm living proof that you could screw up, lose everything, and then turn life around and still be financially okay. Right? If you're waiting on it, you know, why are you waiting on it? Is it is it really because you can't do it or is it because, you know, there's something in you that's that's a little bit scared? And if it's because you're a little bit scared, then understand this, we're all gonna die someday, literally.
Right? That's that that's what I used to have at the beginning of every one of these podcasts. You gotta admit that you're gonna die. You gotta admit that everything is temporary and death is gonna find you whether you've lived a comfortable life or whether you took a chance and tried to live the life you wanna live. Right?
Either way, it's coming for you. So you literally do not have a thing to lose by trying to do what you wanna do. And I'm gonna keep it real simple this week and short. That is all I got for you guys. I hope you're all doing well.
I haven't been publishing as much as I would like to because I have been absolutely insane. You know, like I said, I'm running a manufacturing company out here in Florida. I am doing stand up comedy. I have been pushing on a lot of levels as far as trying to invest more and things like that. But this podcast is still a big part of me, who I am, and serving you guys is a is a big part of what I wanna do.
So I love you all. Get out there and live your best lives while you can. This is Chris Albert Palmitessa and I am out.
