You know, a lot of times we take things being easy as a sign from God that we're supposed to be doing what we're doing right now. And when we go out there and we try something hard, and inevitably, it's difficult, inevitably, we we fall on our fall flat on our faces, we take that as another sign. We take that as a sign that we should step back. And maybe it wasn't the right time for us or or maybe it wasn't the right activity for us. Maybe maybe it wasn't right for us at all.
Maybe we should just go and and do something else. And I think that in a lot of ways, we shoot ourselves in the freaking foot. Because I personally I don't think God works like that. I don't think that God if if you read the Bible, if you believe in it, or if you even believe in the universe, maybe you don't believe in God, maybe you believe in the universe, maybe you're spiritual. I believe in God.
But if if if you read about history, and you read about great people, and you read about what they've gone through to do the things that they've done, You know, people like Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt, you know, we we look at him and we look at his amazing life, but a lot of times we forget that by the age of 23, he was a single father who'd lost his young wife and his his mother on the same day and was left with a daughter and left in absolute grief off of the loss of his wife and his mother. You know, we forget that Winston Churchill, you know, when he was a younger minister planning the Gallipoli campaign, you know, completely failed at conducting that operation or organizing that operation, and and that that campaign was a complete failure that left him pretty much in disgrace. And then both those men, they they overcame those situations, and they went on to put their mark on history. Nothing was easy for them.
Right? Now granted, yeah, Teddy Roosevelt was born into privilege, so was Winston Churchill, both very aristocratic men. But at the same time, it wasn't easy for them. And in fact, at certain points in their lives, all the signs all the signs were were probably telling them that they should stop, that they should go do something else, that they should back off of public life, get out of politics, go live quietly, and enjoy their privilege. But they didn't do that.
They kept going. And I want you to think about what you're dealing with right now. Alright? Your goals and all the obstacles that are in front of you. Every single thing that's getting in your way of what you want in this life.
And I want you to think about how you're reacting to it. What are you doing to try to work through those obstacles? Are you seeing those obstacles and are seeing are you seeing those as a dead end? Are you seeing those as an opportunity? Are you seeing those as an opportunity to learn something to grow?
Are you seeing those as an opportunity to fail? Right? And I say opportunity to fail, you might be thinking, oh, you know, I don't wanna fail. I don't wanna fall flat on my face. But guess what?
If you fail, if you fall flat on your face, you're gonna learn something. You're gonna learn something about yourself. You're gonna learn something about this world. You're gonna learn about what not to do. And if you don't go and try to fail, if you don't go and try to take a risk and try to do something that is off of the path that you're on, that's gonna put you closer to to where you wanna be.
If you don't try, it's never gonna happen. Right? You're gonna end up in the exact same spot year after year. Right? Just sitting there wondering what if.
And if you give up after that first spot of resistance, it's the same thing. You're just gonna go back to doing what you were doing before, and you're not gonna change. You're not gonna grow. You're not gonna use the experience to make you better. And I want you to switch your mindset a bit.
You know, if you fail, it's not a sign from God that says you shouldn't be doing this or that you're not meant for this work or you're not meant for this path. It might be a sign from God that you need to grow, that there's something you need to learn, that there's more you need to understand about life, about this world, about human beings. And the more you do that, the more you are going to be in a place where you're gonna be moving forward. Right? I'm in a sales position right now.
I'm I'm selling anchors. Right? I didn't know much about anchors before I got into this position. I didn't know much about boating. And for the first few months, you know, when I would get on there and, you know, have my pitch ready and get on and and try to get through the gatekeeper on the phone and things like that.
And inevitably, they'd hang up in my face and and, yeah, it's disconcerting. But you know what? You learn something. You learn that maybe maybe that's not the best approach. Right?
Maybe there's something I gotta switch or something I gotta change. Maybe I should rather than calling up trying to get people to buy, maybe I should be calling them up and and and trying to offer value in some way. Maybe I should be trying to attract them to me rather than me constantly knocking at their door and trying to get them to buy something. And so, you know, I switched gears. I started doing some other things, bringing value to the table, talking to people about how I could help them, talking to people about what issues they're dealing with, what problems I could help them to solve.
And there's a lot more success there, right? And that that switch is and this is not a podcast about becoming a salesman. This is a podcast about understanding what you need to do to get ahead, understanding what you need to do to to move forward, understanding what you need to do to find success. Because a lot of times, it's it's right there in front of your face, and if you just think about it, if you just sit back and think about the other human beings involved, if you sit back there and you think about what this obstacle really is, and you actually go out there and you make the effort to learn, then it becomes a lot easier to overcome. Right?
The first time you step onto a jiu-jitsu mat, inevitably, you're gonna get choked out. And you'll probably get choked out by somebody you never thought you would get choked out by in the world. But you come back, you keep going, and you learn. You learn about technique. You learn about leverage.
And slowly but surely, you stop getting choked out so quickly. And then eventually, you learn moves that allow you to maybe roll and not get choked out, and then maybe eventually down the line, you're the one doing the choking. Right? And that's how life works. If you stop doing what you're doing the second things become hard, the second you get choked out, then you've given up, and you're never gonna learn.
But if you keep coming back and you keep learning and you keep your mind open to the changes that you gotta make, then you're gonna be much farther ahead, much farther ahead. There's some of you out there I know, you're you're continually doing the same thing over and over again. And when bad shit happens in your mind, you're telling yourself, oh, man, my life sucks. I suck. My world sucks.
Nobody ever wants to give me a break. And what I'm telling you is that that difficulty you're experiencing, that's your break. That problem that's right in front of you, that's your break. Because the world is telling you, you just gotta find a solution. You just gotta go out there and learn something that's gonna help you to overcome that thing.
You just gotta go out there and you gotta put a little bit more knowledge into your brain. And if you do that, you're gonna be much better off and in a much better place. I hope this makes sense, guys. Again, I am back on track here with the podcast. I'm trying to schedule some more interviews.
You know, life has been a little bit crazy for me. And this came to mind because, you know, I'm sitting here and I'm I'm obviously behind on production, but, you know, it's left me thinking, this is a crossroad for me. This is not a sign that I should stop doing the podcast. This is a sign that I need to double down and continue putting this content out there for you. And whenever I think about ending this, I think about those of you who've reached out to me.
I think about that veteran out there who's sitting there listening to the show and getting something from the advice I'm putting out there. And it's you guys that drive me. It's you guys that keep this going. So thank you for that. And we're gonna continue to get stuff out there to you.
I'm gonna continue to publish three times a week. And the Warrior Soul podcast is gonna continue to help you on your journey toward your best life. This is Chris Albert with the Warrior Soul podcast. I'll be back at you later on this week with some more awesome content, and I am out.
