What is up, Warrior Soul Nation? This is Chris Albert Palmitessa coming at you with another edition of the Warrior Soul podcast. This podcast is where we deliver tools, tactics, strategies, and ideas to help The US military veteran community and anybody else willing to listen to live their absolute best lives. I have been taking some time off, some time away from the podcast to kinda think and kinda get a lot of my stuff together. I'm in a really good place.
Comedy is going really awesome. As I've told you guys before, I'm investing in real estate and and I'm taking care of a project there. The business is going really well. But, you know, sometimes when things are going out their best, a lot of times we get this feeling of self doubt in our heads. Like, okay, why are things going right right now?
Why are things going well? When are things gonna get fucked up? You know, because a lot of us, we don't feel we should be here in the first place and we definitely don't feel like we should be successful. And there's even more of us out there who think about themselves as as being unlovable. Like we can't succeed, we're not supposed to succeed, we're not supposed to be alive, and we're not supposed to have anybody in our lives who truly cares about us.
You know? And I'm just being frank and upfront about this with you because this is talk that that goes in my head a lot. Alright? I I say this a lot in my own thoughts. None of it is accurate, but but I say it in my own thoughts.
And this is stuff that goes on in a lot of our heads. And these are the types of thoughts that hold us back. That self limiting, negative self talk that we all go through, thinking that we don't deserve a good life, thinking that we don't deserve good things, thinking that nobody's ever gonna give us a chance. And the truth is none of us are really giving ourselves a chance. Alright?
So we sit here in our self imposed exile from the rest of society, and we, you know, tell ourselves that story. Alright? And I get it. I mean, I haven't had an easy life and I know most people who listen to this podcast haven't had easy lives. Most of you haven't been cut a break before.
Right? Most of you haven't like found a way forward. And the truth is, you know, some of you, there's truth in all this. Right? The world is not a fair place.
Right? It's just not. Some people are born good looking, some people are born, you know, short, some people are born with diseases, some people get terminal diseases at a young age, some of us go to war and fight, and some of us watch other people die, and some of us have to live with depression and and survivor's guilt and all these different things. But the key to living with all of this and succeeding in spite of it is realizing what it is, and that is a story that we're all telling ourselves. It is a construction of our brains that we are all telling ourselves.
The truth is that nobody has an easy life. There's not one person, maybe yeah, there's a few people who've had easier lives than us, but there's nobody who's been successful, who's actually made shit happen in their lives, that has had an easy life. I mean, if you read the biography of somebody like a Winston Churchill who had such an impact on the twentieth century, you realize how much shit that guy went through. You know, depression, freaking, you know, so much crap. Right?
He failed, during World War One. He failed. He he got a lot of people killed at Gallipoli. Right? Was failing in World War two, and and then he he gained this will to persevere, and that's why he's a legend right now.
You know? A guy like Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt lost his wife in his twenties. Right? Had to start all over again.
Right? And eventually went on to become president, not only president, one of the greatest presidents of The United States ever. Right? It's not whether or not you deal with something difficult, it's how you deal with it. And that's what I think we forget from time to time.
We tell ourselves that. Alright? We pay lip service to that, but when shit truly hits the fan and shit gets hard for us, all of a sudden it's a story, you know. I can't catch a break. I can't do this.
I can't do that. You know? And and what I'm trying to get you guys to understand is that if you're in a difficult position right now, it's an opportunity. Right? It's not a limitation, it's an opportunity.
It's an opportunity to create the path that you want out of the shit that's in front of you. That is an opportunity for you to do what you tell yourself you're constantly doing. Right? To to to be the person that you purport to be or to become the person that you want to be. Right?
You are all tough. Right? You are all people who have been through shit. You are all people who've been through more difficulties than anybody else out there. And that, if you allow it to, will prepare you for success.
Right? And you gotta understand that even once you're successful, right, even once you get to to whatever destination you have in your mind right now, life is only gonna get harder. The more success I have in business, the harder my job gets. Right? I have more customers, more people I gotta please, more work on my table.
Alright? The more successful I get in business, the harder my job gets. Alright? The deeper I go into my relationship with my my beautiful girlfriend, who whom I want to marry, and I should be calling my wife by now because I've been with her for nine and a half years. But the deeper I go into my relationship with her, the more commitments I have to her.
Right? It's not just, oh, you get the woman of your dreams and you live happily ever after. No. There's there's shit she wants me to do. Right?
There's there's crap that I have to deal with. Right? And it doesn't get less, it becomes more. Right? No matter what you do in your life, every single thing that you accomplish is gonna bring and put more on your plate.
And you have to understand that. Right? The the problem for you right now isn't that you have too much on your plate, it's that you've got things on your plate that that that you don't want instead of the things that you do want. Alright? But don't think it's ever gonna be easy.
And I'm kinda going around in circles here, but, you know, that's the thing, guys. It's it's it's never gonna be a home run. It's it's gotta be step by step, day after day, doing the simple difficult things. And when I say simple difficult things, usually it's it's those are the things that we should be doing every day that we don't do. Right?
Doing those things every single day that are gonna allow us to move forward slowly and closer and closer and closer to our dreams, you know. Right now, I I told you guys I started comedy this year. It's been going great, but, you know, most of my time in comedy right now is doing, you know, bullshit open mics. Right? Doing doing fucking bars where half the people don't wanna listen to me and the other half the the the other half are are talking about some bullshit conversation while I'm up there trying to do a set, you know.
But there's people who laugh and I focus on them. And every time I do a set, I'm getting better and better and better and more able to deal with it. Alright? That's the way you gotta look at life. No matter what you're trying to do, the more problems you solve for yourself, the better you're gonna get at solving them.
Step by step by step. And that's it guys. I'm sorry I haven't been more forthcoming with content. Again, life has been extremely busy. I know it's only gonna get busier, so I'm gonna stop making excuses for myself just like I told you not to.
But, I'm gonna get more up here. I'm gonna try and get some more interviews for you guys soon. But that's what I got for you this week. Alright? So this is Chris Albert Palmitessa with the Warrior Soul podcast.
I love you all. I'll talk to you soon.
